We can build an entire brand strategy for a client in a day.Name it. Position it. Give it a vibe. Write the deck. Nail the tagline.

But when it comes to branding ourselves?

Suddenly, it’s giving:→ Too many open tabs.→ Too many directions.→ Too many “Should I even post this?” drafts sitting in Notion.

Why does this happen? Here’s the real talk:

We’re too close to it.When we’re branding others, we have space. We have perspective. We’re solving a problem. It’s almost like…when you go to a therapist, ya know? Unbiased. But when the brand is you, your name, your taste, your timeline, it hits different. Every decision feels personal. Every word feels like a risk.

And for a lot of us? We weren’t taught to be the face.We were the creative behind the curtain. The ghostwriter. The deck-builder. The “make it look cool” person in the pitch.

Being the brand? That’s not just about aesthetics. It’s a mindset shift.

🌀 You go from behind-the-scenes to in-the-feed.🌀 From designing tone of voice for others to figuring out how you talk.🌀 From asking “What’s the CTA?” to “What am I actually trying to say?”

Here’s the good news:

🌀 You don’t need a fully flushed-out brand to be visible.🌀 You don’t need a niche to have a voice.🌀 You don’t need a rebrand, you need a rhythm.

If you’re feeling stuck, try this:

🌀 Treat yourself like a client: give yourself a strategy, not just a mood board.🌀 Brand how you see, not just what you sell.🌀 Share your perspective, not just your portfolio.

The clarity will come through action. You don’t need permission to show up as you already are.

Here’s proof:This week I posted a quick video about Bad Bunny’s “show moment” and how he's built a platform rooted in authenticity. I didn’t overthink it. I didn’t script it to death. I just shared what I saw, and it clicked. The comments, the saves, the DMs? All from people who resonated because it was real.

More soon,Millie
